Aim for the Day
1 in 8 young people in the UK have a diagnosed Mental health problem and they are often struggling to get the help they need. The Essential Guide to Mental Health and Wellbeing in Young People is designed to equip you to be the help young people need.
The day workshop takes in all three of our mental health workshops.
Engaging with Young Peoples Mental Health
Empowered to Create Frameworks of Care
Equipped to Support in Crisis
Full details of the content in each session can be found on our Workshops Page https://www.talkthrough.org.uk/the-essential-guide-to-mental-health
Who should attend
The day is open to any one who would like to know more and discover how to practically support young people. Some of the sessions will include content from a Christian faith perspective. It is therefore ideal for parents, paid and volunteer youth workers, church leaders, chaplains or other professionals working with young people within a faith context, perspective or background. However the day is open to all and will be useful to anyone from different faiths or none.
Refreshment and Lunch Arrangements.
Please note that lunch isnt included. Please bring lunch with you. Alternatively the venue is only a few minutes from a range of shops where you can grab a bite to eat. The cost does include ample refreshments (tea, coffee and cold drinks and biscuits).
Venue: We are pleased to be in Belmont Chapel in the heart of Exeter.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
By bike – there are several racks at the front and rear of the building to park your bike.
By car – There won't be any parking available at the church, however there are two public car parks close by that are just a two-minute walk from the building https://exeter.gov.uk/car-parking/ and there is also the park and ride. As city centre parking is expensive for the day there are 3 Park and Ride locations serving Exeter city centre. Open between 6am and 7:30pm, 7 days a week (Honiton) Monday-Friday (Sowton and Matford). The park and ride buses stop five minutes from the church. http://www.parkandride.net/exeter/index.shtml
By bus –a five-minute walk from the centre of Exeter, where most local buses stop, and just a couple of minutes’ walk from Sidwell Street, where the closest bus stops are. Bus timetables are available from Stagecoach buses.
By rail – Exeter St Davids and Exeter Central station both serve Exeter, with Central Station being the closer of the two stations – a 10 minute walk.
