Resilient Short Course Information
As youth workers we embrace the scary truth that young people are looking at us as an example of Jesus - they will imitate us – learn from us and even mimic us. They may embrace or reject what we display.
How does our relationship with God impact our ministry? How do we as youth workers become imitators of Christ? How do handle those feelings of failure or success? How do we ensure that in all we do we also look after ourselves?
None of us would set our hearts on creating a vision for our youth ministry that focuses on our mission, discipleship ad programmes all ending in failure. There is also pressure for youth workers to produce results.
What are the foundations for a resilient, growing and successful youth ministry programme? How do we seek to ensure that what we do impacts young people for life.
Nothing should break our hearts more than seeing young people step away from faith in Christ. If they don’t walk away as youth we are increasingly losing them in their late teens in 20s.
How do we disciple young people so as to build a resilient faith that lasts a life time. What do we need to show them? How does their adolsecent development and mental health impact their stability and how can we minister into that?
Every youth ministry relies on those amazing volunteers who give up their time – in most churches they are a rare commodity yet we often need more of them? How do we recruit, build and retain a resilient youth team?
